Goin to the chaple, Goin to get married!

what a week of blessings! well everyday being a missionary is a blessing! but this week we had some really awesome things happen!
we had interviews with president Salisbury! it was such a blessing to have a one on one with him, hes so inspired! he has so many great ideas for how we can do missionary and being creative while we do it! we get to see him at MLC tomorrow. thatll be a fun road trip up to Charleston. its about a 3-4 hour drive, but when your in good company its all fun!

our bishop asked us to go meet with a less active man named chris. we stopped by and set up an appointment. when we came back he was really glad to see us! he had served a mission and wanted to be back in church! hes only lived in Roanoke a short while and said hed love to come out with us when ever we could use him! we are so excited to have found someone eager to come out with us. its a win win cuz we can help him come back to church, and do missionary work and he wants to learn the area better so its working out!

Shayla and manny got married!! it was so cool to be able to be a part of it. the relief society and primary president were such a huge help! they looked so nice and sharp. we had a good support from the ward.

A view or Roanoke

This is the Roanoke Star. A landmark around here.
We have been teaching our neighbors! its the coolest thing! Elder Lopez was backing me ou of our driveway and one of our neighbors was like " alright, stop! what are you doing!?" haha so we explained to him some of the things that we do as missionaries that may seem strange to people who dont understand. he was so fascinated by the stuff we do and had us over for a breakfast snack! when we went back, his wife was there and was interested in hearing what we had to teach.
the work is hastening people!! the Lord is preparing people for us to teach and it soo exciting to be in the middle of it! i love being a missionary so much! so much power is in this work!
Love yall!

Cadence got baptized!

My beautiful baby sister got baptized this weekend. i was really glad that i was able to be help give a talk. from the reports that ive heard, it went well! thanks you everyone who helped.   We had a week of answered prayers and great things happening! plis the weather has been great!! almost like California ;)
well, Manny and his wife Shayla who we've been working with are getting married this Saturday!!!! the relief society is super excited and is being such a huge help in helping us. We really have no knowledge of planning weddings, if it were up to us there would probably be some store bought cookies and a nice note on the chalk board haha. they are such wonderful, funny people! we always look forward when we get to meet with them. Us and Shayla were super hungry last week at church so he busted out some fruit snacks and shared with us haha.
We got to meet with Kelly! We hadn't been able to meet with him for like a week but we got to see him Saturday and talk about baptism and he said that he knows that its what he wants to do! so we were obviously super pumped!! hes an awesome guy!
We went on  an exchange with some elders in the zone. i was with Elder Holbrook, hes an awesome elder, got a fun personality. during the day we got a phone call from a number with an Oregon area code. We were confused cuz thats obviously not in our mission haha but we answered. turns out it was a missionary who recently finished his mission and was saying hi! haha it was a pleasant  surprise haha
So homer has moved to Utah :(  He will be missed a lot but i know he'll be happy out there! it was hard saying bye cuz he was like our 3rd companion. we got to have dinnner with him one last time with him and Cathy. Cathy is a recent convert who is the sweetest lady. she is always so positive and kind. but yeah, Homer is gone but itll be all good. thanks for all  yall do. i love love love being a missionary. i cant say it enough! have a blessed week!!

Trying to be like Jesus

the weather is so beautiful here in Roanoke Virginia. We are so blessed to have a wonderful place to serve. We spent Saturday with Homer. hes so funny and a great member missionary. he picked us up that morning, and took us home at night! We had a great start to the day by helping with the ward easter egg hunt. yeah you read it right, we had it this past Saturday, it rained when it was originally supposed to be but had to reschedule. we had a busy Saturday teaching. i love being busy teaching.
we also got to have dinner down town with the assistants to the president. they were passing through and asked if we wanted to join them! theyre fun guys, always making ya smile or laugh. We had such a beautiful Sunday! Manny and his wife and kids came to church!!! it was such a blessing and miracle to have them. they were worried that their children would be disruptive. we told them how its a family congregation and that there were many other kids trying to keep their kids reverent.   a never have i been so grateful for noisy kids at church! haha Sheila gave us some fruit snacks cuz we were all hungry haha! We got to meet with the Crotts. The first councilor in the stake presidency, and his wife joined us. they are one of thr many people we love to go see. they treat us like family. we taught about the authority to baptize. it went so well and was directed by the spirit! i love it! the real teacher is the spirit in all we do
Shout out to my baby sister for going to get baptized this weekend!! im so excited for her! so many good things are going on here! i love serving in Roanoke with Elder Lopez!
i was listening to this song and it really brings the spirit in a awesome way. it makes me think of how im trying to be like Jesus, wearing His name over my heart and sharing those things about Him that are near and dear to my heart. please have a good week! love yall!

Holy Conference!! #Happy Easter

We had so many things happen this past week! this past transfer flew by like crazy!!! i blinked and it was gone!! haha
We had a mission leadership meeting in Charleston, i loved being able to see president and sister Salisbury. they have soo much insight and bless our lives. We always learn so much from them!
when we got home and saw our neighbor moving an old desk down her driveway. she we went over and helped her, shared the #BecauseHeLives pass along card with her and she wants to meet with us! she asked some cool questions about the temple and such. the Lord is preparing people!
Huge shout out to Mama Johnson for sending the Roanoke zone some leis! Everyone loved them! they made it fun. Conference was amazing! im tellin ya, its the missionary super bowl! i dont know if i could pick a favorite talk but i really enjoyed Sunday morning session. isent it great to having living apostles and prophets?! good  stuff. We had some investigators come Sunday, and gave them a church tour! its always funny to see peoples reactions to seeing the cultural hall. i never thought it different to have a full sized basketball court in the middle of the church building cuz ive grown up with it haha.
We had a humble Easter lunch with Homer, chili hot dogs with lemonade and chips haha. it was nice. Homer is like our 3rd companion, he comes out with us all the time. things here in Roanoke are going so great! Elder Lopez and i get to stay together another transfer! i love being a missionary with a passion! it so fulfilling. this is the best 2 year for me for my life! i learn so much everyday, serve others and have fun while doing it. love yall!!! have a great week! do something fun in remembrance of me!
